Bloody HELL.
I just heard from my editor at Running Press. For promotional reasons, the publication date for Tangled Web is being pushed back to January, with (I think) the release in December. I hope it's before Christmas, but who knows? At least it's still going to be published.

I HOPE.

ARRRRRGGHHHH!

Oh, piss.

That's really 'arrrgh'-able.

I'll send you good thoughts.

Oh, crap. :-( That really sucks -- you definitely want it to be available at the very least for December.

That really sucks. I'm glad your other publisher doesn't pull that kind of crap.

I wouldn't put it past him, I've heard rumours he's an unreliable type...

I'm sure my other publisher wouldn't alter a date three weeks before the book comes out without a really good reason! Who knows, maybe RP is going to do something amazing... and maybe it's just that this is my veryfirsteveromigodBIGPRESS book and every little hiccup is freak-out time.

Not that there aren't other things to do, anyway!

Best-case scenario: someone at one of the chains got their act together and agreed to put this book in their Romance promotion for February (which consists of putting it on one of the prominent tables or the display at the end of an aisle.)
Worst-case: they didn't get the orders necessary to carve out a space in the deluge of fall titles, so they're pushing it to a breathing month.
Does this apply to Donald's book too?

Yes, both books. Official December release, January publication.. and I don't know why those are considered two separate events.

Damn, I was looking forward to that. :(

Ah well, it'll just have to move to the 2010 to read list instead if this year's.

That sucks. :(

PS You have something odd embedded at the bottom of your post... check here if it wasn't intentional, there was something odd going on last night on LJ.

It wasn't intentional--thanks! Odd -- I usually get emails from LJ News, but not on this one.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the "Embed Ads in Your LJ for Fun And Profit!" idea that they've been pushing.
